The BenQ GW2270H is a cheap 1080p monitor that measures 21.5 inches across the diagonal. That’s a small monitor by most people’s standards and I would normally recommend a minimum of 24 inches. But to be honest it’s a personal choice and you may prefer a smaller size or perhaps you are limited by size and price. If you need a smaller monitor then read on.

Build Quality

The design is simple, but effective. This is a cheap no frills monitor so don’t expect a lot and you won’t be disappointing. There’s nothing really wrong with it though. The style is fairly minimal an unobtrusive, it won’t look out of place on anyone’s desk. The bezels could be smaller perhaps but they are plain in design and not too distracting.

It doesn’t have much scope for adjustments, just tilt is included. So be prepared to place it on a pile of books if it ends up being too low. It comes with two HDMI ports which is appreciated, some more expensive models only have one making this a good choice if you intend to hook up a PC and games console. There is also a VGA cable if you still have a video card that needs it!

Performance

You’ll get a good clear HD image from this monitor. No gaming frills though so if you are a hardcore gamer then this won’t be for you, but it will look fine with a frame limited HD limited console. Reviewers on Amazon seem happy enough with what they got but I suspect they are not serious gamers, I take this to mean that you won’t be disappointed if you don’t have super high standards and you’re not used to high performance (and very expensive) monitors.

If you are looking for something cheap and easy to setup then this is an excellent choice for the price.

We give the BenQ GW2270H a 5 out of 5 rating. Want to know what existing owners of the monitor think? You can read real user reviews here.

Your Questions Answered

Can I use this with a PlayStation?
Sure, just hook up with the HDMI ports. But, remember, there are no speakers on this so you’ll need some headphones or external ones if you want sound!
Is it glossy or matt?
You’ll find a matt finish on this monitor.
Can I buy this for a triple monitor setup?
Yes, of course. The limiting factor will be your PC and whether it can support three monitors. Note that this doesn’t have the thinnest bezel in the world so you will notice it between the screens. On the other hand the matt plain finish makes it OK, and given the price of these…
