The BenQ MOBIUZ EX2510 is built for PC owners who like to play games. If you’re a gamer looking for fast response times and stunning visual quality then keep reading. The EX2510 sits at the affordable end of the buying spectrum, it’s certainly not low end, but it won’t break the bank either. And at 1080p it doesn’t require a beast of a PC to power it.
This 24.5″, 144Hz, IPS screen is packed with modern features and arguably better looking than competitors in this price range, the Benq is going to meet the needs of most buyers looking for decent performace without breaking the bank. Let’s delve into the feature set to see if this is worthy of your money.
Build Quality

The first thing you notice is that, despite having an affordable price tag, the Mobius is a classy looking monitor. It features a smart, solid stand that has a good range of adjustment ( -5°/+20° tilt, 20°/20° swivel and 130mm height adjustment). The thin bezels and sharp lines really help it stand out from its peers at this price point.
Benq haven’t held back on connectivity options, you’ll be hooking this up to a PC or console using one of the two DisplayPort 1.2 sockets or HDMI 2.0 port. Additional connectivity includes a 3.5mm audio jack. There are inbuilt speakers and whilst these never compete with an external sound system they are actually pretty decent and are more than suitable for YouTube and gaming. The big critcism is the lack of bass which makes them less suitable for listening to music but that should be no deal breaker, you probably have a HiFi for that already!
Performance

The EX2510 is able to show frames at an impressive 144hz, this will ensure a smooth gameplay experience. As this is a 1080p resolution screen, any half decent modern graphics card should have a good chance of keeping up with this framerate in all but the most demanding of games.
Pixel response times are very respectable for an IPS based panel, with 1ms MPRT response time (Motion Picture Response Time standard) and 2ms grey-to grey. This helps to eliminate any bluring effects in fast paced action.
The Benq manages to build in an HDR offering at this price point. It isn’t quite the same as the 1000 nit premium HDR performance you’ll find on more expensive models but nonetheless it does manage to improve the visual experience. When switched on you’ll find a brighter image with greater colour vibrancy.
And whilst this monitor is pointed towards the gaming market, we’re pleased to say it looks good out of the box with your Windows desktop, no need to fiddle with settings to get something decent up. Good colour performance also makes it look good with photos and video.
