The ViewSonic VP2468 monitor is aimed at home users looking for a professional screen to work with photography, design and content creation applications. It’s not a budget grade monitor, so this is targeting folks who want a little extra quality and don’t mind paying for it.

The ViewSonic features a 23.8″ IPS panel that was built to give superior colour representation and viewing angles. You don’t get game specific features such as adaptive sync with this model, it will suit someone who prioritises image quality in the first instance perhaps someone who likes to do serious graphical work in the day time before finishing up with a quick blast of Doom before bed!

Build Quality

The VP2468 is what’s known as a zero frame screen, meaning it has super thin bezels round the edge. And whilst the marketing people don’t seem to understand what the word zero means, I do like this look on a monitor. It definitely has a premium vibe to it and is actually practically useful when positioning two screens next to each. You want to keep the borders in between them at a minimum.

The 24″ size suits full HD resolution in my opinion, but at this time any are considering moving up to 27″ and QHD resolution for that crisper image. Your personal preference may be for the smaller form factor and there is nothing wrong with that.

Performance

ViewSonic have put the work into getting a top quality image with fantastic colour accuracy. This isn’t a monitor that has been fine tuned for gaming so do bear that in mind if you are looking for an out and out gaming monitor. However if you do graphical work on your monitor and need a pro level screen then you’ll be please to know that it achieves 99% sRGB colour coverage and Delta E

They go on to point out that this monitor is equipped with ViewSonic’s specially designed “Colorbration” kit, including hardware calibration functions designed for long-term precise colour performance.

The IPS panel is designed to overcome some of the limitations of TN technology including superior viewing angles to ensure there isn’t a fast drop off in image quality the moment you look at the screen side on, or from above. With a 5ms response time you are within the boundaries of decent game performance. But note this monitor does not include additional specific game functionality such as adaptive sync and it runs at a fairly standard 60Hz.

We give the ViewSonic VP2468 a 4.5 out of 5 rating. Want to know what existing owners of the monitor think? You can read real user reviews here.

Should I buy the ViewSonic VP2468?

The ViewSonic VP2468 offers a full HD screen and stunning IPS panel. The 5ms response time is about as good as it gets for this panel type so it will still perform for the casual gamer. If you are having some doubts about this purchase then why not read some real owner reviews and see what other buyers think.
