The ViewSonic VX2452MH is a reasonably priced yet fast monitor that delivers a decent low latency enviroment that will keep gamers happy. It lacks some of the modern features you’ll find on more modern monitors however, you won’t find adaptive sync technologies or a fast refresh rate.

It’s perfectly able to deliver smooth gaming animations and a sharp HD image making it a decent budget buy if not the most exciting monitor on the market.

Build Quality

The Viewsonic is supported by a round base that features a 20 degree tilt. Unfortunately this is the only adjustment available, you can’t rotate or adjust height. But it does come with VESA mounting attachments which is something I recommend taking advantage of. If you’ve never used a monitor arm before – they are worth considering, not only are they great for positioning screens but they save space too.

Connectivity is well catered for with the fairly standard VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports. There are even a pair of small tinny speakers included if you like that kind of thing, personally I would stick to headphones.

Performance

The TN panel has its pros and cons, on the plus side it helps provide that low latency envrionment and fast 2ms refresh rates that will keep you close to the action. On the other hand it doesn’t deliver quite the same colour output as a more expensive technology, and as is typical with these panels, viewing angles are not good. You’ll notice a drop off in colour accuracy when you view the screen from the side.

We give the ViewSonic VX2457GML a 5 out of 5 rating. Want to know what existing owners of the monitor think? You can read real user reviews here.
