Duronic DM351X3 Single Arm Review

I struggled with a poor built in stand for many years on a cheap replacement monitor, at the time there wasn’t a lot of choice for alternatives and I only wished I could have bought something like this. My old monitor was poorly supported, it tilted forward, was wobbly and not high enough but I just suffered through it.

These days, assuming your monitor has the appropriate VESA fittings, you can get an affordable stand that will replace your poor performing default with little effort.

This arm allows you to attach monitors with either a VESA 100 or VESA 75 fixture (i.e. the vertical and horizontal distances of the holes on the screen must be 7.5 or 10 cm).

It is recommended for screens that are between 13 and 27 inches only. Any bigger and you could find it has trouble supporting it. It has a max weight of 10kg.

Some buyers go for two single armed stands in their multi screen setup instead of opting for a double arm. If you have particularly heavy monitors or want more flexibility when moving them around then this is worth considering. Typically the dual arms restrict you to having both screens at the same height, this may not be suitable if you have one in portrait mode for example.

This model is well rated on Amazon and has many positive reviews. Owners are quick to mention how sturdy they feel, ease of assembly and the overall value for money. One critiscm is that the height adjustment could have been more straight forward but in reality this is not something that will be changed frequently.

We give the Duronic DM351X3 Single Arm a 5 out of 5 rating. Want to know what existing owners of the monitor think? You can read real user reviews here.

Your Questions Answered

Can I use it for my 28" monitor with the weight of 5kg?
If it has the right fittings then it should be possible to attach it and I don’t see why it wouldn’t work given that it falls within the weight limitations. Of course you should accept that you are using the device beyond its recommendations so be prepared to take responsibility for doing so. It should work, but do so at your own risk.
Does this damage the desk?
When clamping I’d recommend using pads (supplied) to cushion the clamps. This should go someway to protecting your desk. That said, if you tighten it too hard and place a heavy strain on the arm and if your desk is made of a soft wood for example, there’s always a risk of some marking. If this is unacceptable on your antique desk then I would suggest a desk clamp is not for you.
