The Duronic DM252 is a monitor arm built to hold two monitors at one time. The arm is held in place using a desk clamp mounting, so you’ll need to see if your desk is suitable. As long as there is a good lip for the clamp to grip firmly round you should be fine but this won’t work for all desk styles.
The manufacturer does suggest that an alternative grommet mounting mechanism can be used to support the arm but I’m afraid I do not know what that means, you’d have to get in touch with them. If you happen to know, please comment below! That said, in the Q&A section they do link to this grommet.
This style is particularly good for preserving desk space. The footprint of the stand is fairly minimal so you get to reclaim a lot of work area from bulky monitor stands. It actually makes a big difference and I’m surprised more people don’t use this type of arm as standard.
The DM252 has “fully adjustable” double arms giving you a whole load of flexibility once your monitors are up. This allows you to tilt, rotate and turn your monitors to get them into position. You can move the arm up and down but it must be fixed in place once you are happy. It’s easy to underestimate the importance of setting your monitor in the right position, not only does it mean you can perfect your posture by setting them at eye level but actually some screens, particularly TN panels need correct positioning to get the best image quality.
The manufacturer claims VESA 100 or VESA 75 compatibility, the brackets have fixings for both dimension sets. The arm is capable of holding monitors up to around 8kg, up to 27″ in size.
Reading through some of the owner reviews it looks like assembly can be a little problematic if done solo so if you can get someone along to help take the weight the extra pair of hands will help the assembly. That said, self assembly is doable – it’s just a bit more fiddly so prepare to be patient. The same reviewers also report back a good sturdy build and they are overall impressed with the product – especially given the price.
