The 24 inch form factor is fairly standard these days, most off the shelf screens will come with a screen this size. In general I would suggest that this is the smallest screen you should be looking at if you are serious about gaming. Sure you could make a 22 inch screen work but if you are to really see the detail afforded to you by a high definition screen you need something a bit bigger.
